[s1e4] The World In The Walls Review
After helping Quentin wake up, Julia is betrayed by Marina, who burns her hedge witch "stars" off her skin and banishes her from the coven.
The entire scenario is a Scarlatti Web spell cast by Marina and Julia to distract Dean Fogg. Marina’s goal is to lower Brakebills' wards so she can break in and steal her erased memories. [S1E4] The World in the Walls
To wake Quentin, Dean Fogg summons a Matarese (a mechanical-looking scorpion) to enter the dream world. However, Quentin ultimately must break the spell himself by refusing to play the games of the Madness Maker , a figure from the Fillory and Further books. Memorable Moments After helping Quentin wake up, Julia is betrayed
Quentin finds himself in a distorted version of his past mental health clinic. Familiar faces appear as fellow patients or staff: Eliot is a patient seeking "happy pills," Alice is an unhinged inmate who thinks she's an alien, and Penny is an orderly. To wake Quentin, Dean Fogg summons a Matarese
Quentin leads a music therapy group in a rendition of Taylor Swift’s "Shake It Off" to annoy the "orderly" version of Penny, testing if the real Penny’s consciousness is linked to the dream.
When the real Penny eventually enters the dream, he is furious at the "racist" orderly caricature Quentin's mind created.
