Альбом «Caney - Single» — UZI & Azer Bülbül - Apple Music

This blog post outlines the lasting impact and emotional depth of classic track, " Caney ."

"Caney" is a raw expression of hasret (intense longing). The lyrics, penned and composed by Ali Yılmaz , depict a person adrift in the absence of a loved one.

The repetition of "Nerdesin caney? / Ciğerim yaney" (Where are you, my soul? my liver/heart is burning) captures the visceral pain typical of Bülbül’s style.

Though Bülbül passed away in 2012, "Caney" found a second life in 2023. The Turkish rapper UZI released a remixed version on YouTube that interpolated Bülbül’s original vocals. This collaboration bridged the gap between the old-school Arabesque tradition and modern drill/trap, introducing Bülbül's emotional depth to a new generation.
