At its heart, Newton 3 creates a dedicated simulation environment outside the standard After Effects timeline. When you launch the plugin, it opens a separate interface where layers are treated as "bodies." You can assign different physical properties to these bodies, such as:

Objects that remain fixed in space (like a floor or wall). Dynamic: Objects subject to gravity and collisions.

The ability to connect objects using hinges, springs, pistons, and wheels. This allows for the creation of complex machinery, ragdoll effects, or dangling ropes.
