The story follows (Wahlberg), a man diagnosed with schizophrenia who is haunted by skills he never learned and memories of places he has never visited. He soon discovers that these "hallucinations" are actually memories from his previous incarnations.
Evan is recruited by the "Believers," a faction of Infinites who use their gifts to protect humanity. They are at war with the "Nihilists," led by the villainous (Ejiofor), who views reincarnation as a curse and seeks to end all life on Earth to stop the cycle forever.
