The 2022 Polish horror film (originally titled Ostatnia wieczerza , or "The Last Supper") is a gritty, atmospheric supernatural thriller directed by Bartosz M. Kowalski. Set in 1987, the story follows an undercover police officer who infiltrates a remote, isolated monastery to investigate the mysterious disappearances of several women. Plot Summary
The film begins with a prologue set in 1957, where a priest attempts to kill an infant he believes is the Antichrist, only to be stopped by police. Thirty years later, the protagonist, Marek, enters the same monastery posing as a priest. He discovers a group of monks who perform exorcisms on "possessed" individuals, but he soon finds evidence that these rituals are faked using simple special effects. However, as Marek digs deeper, he learns that the monks are actually part of a cult waiting for a "Chosen One" to fulfill a dark prophecy involving cannibalism and ritual sacrifice.
