Be patient. Some "mature thumbs" can take up to 4 weeks to show signs of life.
Once the "thumb" has formed a dry callous at the end, it’s ready for its new home. Use a gritty, well-draining cactus or succulent mix.

A little wrinkling is normal as the cutting uses its own water; deep shriveling means it needs more humidity.
